Map a room type to a connected channel

In ClearHost: Channel Manager → Channels.

Channel mapping

Where: Channel Manager → Channels in ClearHost
You need: Channel Manager on the property's plan, and permission to view channels on this property.

#Steps

  1. 1

Select the property you want to work on in the top bar.

  2. 2

Make sure there is something to map first. Open Property → Rooms and Rates and check the room type and its rate plan already exist — Create room type is on the board’s more-tools button if one is missing. Mapping pairs a channel’s rooms with these, so it has nothing to offer until they exist. Open in ClearHost ↗

  3. 3

Open "Channel Manager → Channels" and let it sign in, or click "Authenticate Channels" if the panel stays empty.

  4. 4

Open the channel you connected earlier inside that embedded panel and pair each of its rooms and rates with the matching ClearHost ones. The wording there belongs to the channel manager, not to ClearHost, so follow its own labels rather than looking for ClearHost ones.

  5. 5

Map every room type you actually want that channel to sell. Anything left unmapped simply will not appear on that site, however it is priced in ClearHost.

  6. 6

Once the mapping is saved, the availability and rates you set on "Channel Manager → Inventory" start flowing to that channel. To push everything at once rather than waiting for the next change, use Full sync from the more-tools button on the inventory board. Open in ClearHost ↗

#Good to know

Mapping is per channel, so a room type sold on three sites is mapped three times. It is also the usual answer to "my rooms are not showing" — a connected channel with an unmapped room type looks connected and sells nothing. Prices still come from the rate plan you mapped to, so changing the price on a channel means changing it in ClearHost, not on the OTA extranet.
