What it is: Vacation rentals (Expedia Group): villas, homestays and whole-property rentals.
Where: Vrbo owner account
You need: the property's Vrbo username and password, and the account owner's phone for a 2FA SMS code.

#On Vrbo

  1. 1

If the account was ever connected to another PMS or channel manager, ask Vrbo support to disconnect it and convert it back to a normal account ("Please disconnect my account from my current channel manager; I will manage the extranet manually").

  2. 2

Remove any iCal calendar links (e.g. from Airbnb or an old PMS). They would overwrite what ClearHost sends.

#In ClearHost

  1. 3

Open Channel Manager β†’ Channels and click "Create". Choose Vrbo.

  2. 4

Fill in "Title", the property, and the Vrbo "Username" and "Password".

  3. 5

Click "Authenticate" (not Test Connection). If asked, enter the 2FA code sent by SMS to the account owner, then click Test Connection.

  4. 6

On the mapping page, map a room and rate to each Vrbo listing you want to connect.

  5. 7

Save the channel, then activate it.

#Common problems

  • Channel disconnects by itself: usually because the Vrbo password changed. Authenticate again with the new password (an email warns you when this happens).
  • Availability gets overwritten: an old iCal link or channel manager is still connected on Vrbo. Remove it (steps 1 and 2).
  • Messages and reviews don't come through to ClearHost; answer them on Vrbo.
