Stop selling a rate plan without deleting it
In ClearHost: Property → Rooms and Rates.
Where: Property → Rooms and Rates in ClearHost
You need: Channel Manager on the property's plan, and permission to edit rates on this property.
#Steps
- 1
Select the property you want to work on in the top bar.
- 2
Open "Property → Rooms and Rates".
- 3
Find the room type and the plan listed under it, then open the three-dot menu on the plan’s row and choose "Edit Rate Plan". View Rate Plans in the room type’s own menu narrows the screen to that room type first if you need it.
- 4
Go to the "Advanced Settings" tab and find "Stop Sell" near the bottom.
- 5
Before you tick anything, check whether this is a derived rate plan. On a derived rate plan the day boxes are greyed out, because a derived plan takes these settings from its parent; untick Derive advanced settings from parent plan. at the top of the tab to unlock them. Unticking it wipes any Stop Sell ticks already on this plan and resets its min and max stay and its closed-to-arrival and closed-to-departure days back to defaults, so note those figures first — and that is why you unlock before you tick, not after. Stopping the parent plan instead stops the derived plan with it, and costs you nothing. On a plan that is not derived there is no such checkbox and the boxes are already editable, so go straight on.
- 6
Now tick every day from Mon through Sun. Stop Sell is a weekly pattern, so ticking all seven withdraws the plan from your connected channels on every day of the week; ticking only some days leaves it on sale on the rest.
- 7
Click "Save Changes", then confirm with "Apply Changes". To put the plan back on sale, come back and untick the days.
- 8
Leave "Delete Rate Plan" alone unless you really mean it — deleting is permanent, whereas the "Stop Sell" ticks can be undone at any time.
#Good to know
ClearHost has no deactivate or archive switch on a rate plan — this weekly Stop Sell is the reversible way to take one off sale. It reaches your connected channels only: ClearHost pushes it out to them, but it does not stop your own staff selling the plan from the front desk or in a walk-in, so if you need it gone everywhere, tell your team as well. It is also the plan’s standing default, so a stop sell you set for specific dates on the inventory grid still overrides it for those dates. Bookings you already hold on the plan are not affected.
