Cancel a property’s subscription
In ClearHost: Property → Billing.
Where: Property → Billing in ClearHost
You need: permission to delete billing in the organisation.
#Steps
- 1
Select the property you want to work on in the top bar. Each property is billed on its own, so this ends one property and leaves the rest running.
- 2
Open "Property Billing" and find the "Subscription Information" card.
- 3
Click "Cancel Subscription". The confirmation box tells you the subscription stays active to the end of the period you have paid for and then does not renew. Yes, Cancel goes ahead; Keep Subscription backs out.
- 4
A paid subscription is not switched off there and then. It is marked to end at the close of the current billing period, and a yellow band appears at the top of the screen with the exact date. Everything keeps working until then and no further charge is taken.
- 5
A property still in trial, or one whose payment never completed, has no period left to run. Those are cancelled on the spot and lose their plan immediately.
- 6
While the cancellation is only scheduled you can undo it. Resume Subscription on that yellow band puts you back on the same plan from the date you would have stopped, and Switch to Higher Plan opens Reverse Cancellation, which does the same on a larger plan. Both need a fresh authorisation at the payment provider.
- 7
Once the date passes the plan is gone and the band with it; the screen then offers "Subscribe", which starts a brand-new subscription rather than reviving the old one.
#Good to know
Cancelling ends the billing, not the property: your rooms, rates, bookings and guest records are not deleted. What does go is the channel connection — on a plan that includes the channel manager ClearHost tears the property down at the channel side, straight away for a trial or unpaid subscription and at the end of the period for a paid one, so reconnecting later means setting the channels up again. A subscription whose payment has failed and been halted cannot be cancelled from this screen at all; that one needs support.
