Create an advertising promotion for your property
In ClearHost: Promote Property → Google Ads.
Where: Promote Property → Google Ads in ClearHost
You need: Booking Engine on the property's plan, and permission to edit property details on this property.
#Steps
- 1
Select the property you want to advertise in the top bar.
- 2
Open "Promote Property" in the sidebar and pick "Google Ads" or "Meta Ads" — each platform has its own promotions and its own create flow.
- 3
Click "Create New Promotion" in the purple banner at the top. The wizard opens on its own page and runs through five steps — Goal, Reach, Creative, Ad Preview and Launch — with Continue moving you on each time. It belongs to the platform you came in from: a promotion runs on Google Ads or on Meta Ads, not both, so to advertise on both you build one on each side. Open in ClearHost ↗
- 4
Goal asks what the campaign is for: "Get More Bookings", "Promote an Offer" or "Increase Visibility". Pick one.
- 5
Reach asks who should see it: "Nearby travellers", which is roughly a 100km radius, your own state, or "Across India".
- 6
Creative is where the ad gets its material. Describe Promotion is free text about the deal — the AI writes better copy with it than without. Ad Format is Single Image or Video, or Ad Carousel for several.
- 7
Under "Ad Creatives", "Upload Ad Images or Videos" by dragging files in or clicking "Browse File" — PNG, JPG, MP4 or MOV up to 20MB each. Generate using AI beside it builds creatives from your property’s own photos instead. At least one image or video is required before you can go on.
- 8
"YouTube Video" is optional and only matters if you want the ad to run on YouTube: Google runs video ads from YouTube itself, so paste a link to the video on your own channel rather than uploading a file.
- 9
"Ad Preview" reads back the headline and image the AI settled on. There is nothing to fill in — check it and carry on.
- 10
Launch is where the campaign meets the platform. If this one is not connected yet, the connect button opens its consent screen in a new tab — come back to this tab once you have approved. A platform you have not connected cannot run.
- 11
Set a "Start Date" under "Campaign start", then fill in the budget section — only this promotion’s own platform is asked for, so you will see "Google Ads budget" or "Meta Ads budget", never both.
- 12
Anything still missing is listed under "Fix these to launch" above the button — work through that list and it clears. The button at the bottom right then reads Launch on Google Only or Launch on Meta Only for the platform you are on. Click it.
- 13
The new promotion appears on the "Promote Property" page showing "Setting up your campaign" while the platforms create it. That runs in the background, so you can leave the page and come back.
#Good to know
Promotions are advertising bought with real money on Google and Meta, charged by them and not by ClearHost — the budget you set here is spent on your own ad accounts. Both platforms review new ads before they run, so a campaign can sit approved-but-not-yet-delivering for a while after launch. The wizard keeps a draft as you go, so leaving half way does not lose the work. Only owners, admins and managers can launch; a staff member sees the screen but the launch is refused.
