Turn a discount code off without deleting it
In ClearHost: Booking Engine → Coupons.
Where: Booking Engine → Coupons in ClearHost
You need: Booking Engine on the property's plan, and permission to edit channels on this property.
#Steps
- 1
Select the property you want to work on in the top bar.
- 2
Open "Booking Engine → Coupons" and find the code in the list.
- 3
Open the three-dot menu at the end of its row and choose "Disable Coupon", then confirm with "Disable" in the box that appears.
- 4
The badge on the row changes to "Disabled" and the code stops being accepted immediately — a guest who types it into your booking page is told the coupon is inactive. Nothing else about it changes: its dates, its cap and every booking already made with it are left exactly as they were.
- 5
To bring it back, open the same three-dot menu. Where it said Disable Coupon it now says Enable Coupon; choose that and confirm.
- 6
You can do the same from inside the coupon. Choose View Details on the row menu and use the Disable Coupon button along the bottom of the panel that opens — it reads Enable Coupon whenever the code is already off. There is no confirmation box on this one; it takes effect the moment you click.
- 7
Set the "Status: All" dropdown above the list to "Disabled" to see everything you have switched off. Leave Delete Coupon alone unless you genuinely mean it: deleting cannot be undone, while disabling can be reversed whenever you like.
#Good to know
Disabling is the only reversible off-switch a coupon has — there is no archive and no end-of-life state beyond deleting it. The status you see on a row is worked out rather than stored, so a code you have not disabled can still read Expired once its end date has passed, or Limit Reached once its cap is full; neither of those is something you turn off, and both are fixed by editing the coupon rather than by enabling it. The Delete Coupon item in the row menu on the Coupon Usage screen is not wired up and only shows a Coming soon message.
