What this guide covers, the words we use, and how every OTA connection works.

This is our team handbook for onboarding properties and fixing common problems in ClearHost. If you are new, read this page first, then work through the OTA connections guides in the sidebar.

#Key terms

Term Meaning
OTA Online Travel Agency: a booking website such as Booking.com, MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, Expedia, Trip.com, Airbnb or Agoda.
Extranet The OTA's website where the property owner manages their listing.
Channex The connectivity provider that links each OTA to us. On every OTA, choose Channex as the provider.
ClearHost Our system. After connecting an OTA, you test the connection and map rooms here.
Mapping Linking each OTA room type and rate plan to the matching ClearHost room and rate plan so prices, availability and bookings sync.
OBP Occupancy Based Pricing: the price changes with the number of guests in the room.

#How it fits together

How ClearHost, Channex and the OTAs connect You set rates, availability and restrictions in ClearHost. Channex maps each OTA room and rate to ClearHost and sends them on to Booking.com, MMT/Goibibo, Expedia, Trip.com, Airbnb and Agoda. Bookings come back the same way into ClearHost. The team works in ClearHost. Channex sits in the middle: it's where each OTA's rooms and rates are mapped to ClearHost, and it opens inside ClearHost under Channel Manager → Channels. Once a channel is mapped, rates and availability flow out to the OTA, and bookings flow back into ClearHost on their own.

#How every OTA connection works

The extranet screens are different on each OTA, but the job is always the same four steps:

  1. On the OTA: log in to the property's extranet and choose Channex as the connectivity provider. Some OTAs give you an ID or access code here. Copy it.
  2. In ClearHost: add the channel, enter the property ID or access code from step 1, then click Test connection.
  3. In ClearHost: map each OTA room type and rate plan to the matching ClearHost room and rate plan, then save.
  4. Check: open the OTA calendar and confirm that rates and availability from ClearHost appear there.

ClearHost can connect any channel Channex supports. Yatra, Hostelworld, Vrbo, Hotelbeds, Traveloka, Klook and WebBeds already have a guide under OTA connections, written from Channex's documentation and marked In progress until the team has onboarded a property on them.
